Brea Education Foundation Scholarship – up to $2,000 for Brea Olinda High School graduates

Congratulations on taking this step toward your future.

The Brea Education Foundation proudly supports graduating seniors of the Brea Olinda Unified School District who are pursuing education beyond high school. Our scholarships are funded by generous community members, educators, and local partners who believe in investing in Brea students.

This scholarship is about more than grades. We want to understand who you are, how you’ve grown, and how you hope to make a positive impact.

Applications are due by 11:59pm on Friday, April 3, 2026.

    • Completed scholarship application

    • Official or unofficial high school transcript

    • One letter of recommendation

    • Completed Brea Olinda High School (BOHS) Activities Form

    • Scholarship essay

    • Optional short answer response

  • Essay Requirements

    • Length: 500 to 760 words

    • Format: Double-spaced, 12-point font

    • Identification: Include your name on each page

    Essay Prompt

    Describe how your experiences in Brea schools have shaped who you are as a student, leader, and community member.

    Share a specific example of growth, leadership, service, or perseverance. Explain how receiving a Brea Education Foundation scholarship will help you pursue your educational goals and how you hope to give back to your community in the future.

    You may focus on one of the following themes, if helpful:

    Leadership and Character
    Describe a time when you demonstrated leadership or integrity. What did you learn, and how will it guide your future goals?

    Growth Through Challenge
    Describe a challenge you faced during high school and how you responded. What did the experience teach you?

    Community and Service
    Describe how you have contributed to your school or community and how that experience shaped your desire to serve others.

Brea Education Foundation Driven to Succeed Scholarship — for Brea Canyon High School graduates

The Brea Education Foundation’s Driven to Succeed Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior from Brea Canyon High School. This scholarship recognizes a student who has demonstrated perseverance, determination, and a commitment to achieving their goals.

Recipients are selected by Brea Canyon High School.

Stack-Waggener Scholarship in Math and Science for Brea Olinda High School graduates

The Brea Education Foundation administers and awards the Stack-Waggener Scholarship in Math and Science each year. The scholarship was established by Gerry Stack (BOHS ’41) and Ruby June (Ferree) Stack (BOHS ’42) in honor of Alice (Fritsch) Waggener, who had a lasting impact on their lives.

This merit-based scholarship supports graduating seniors from Brea Olinda High School who plan to pursue degrees in mathematics, physics, computer science, or engineering at Fullerton College or an accredited four-year university.

Additional details about the Stack-Waggener and Ruby June Stack scholarships will be provided through the BOHS Guidance Department.
